Consultations / Second Opinions

We are NOT a discount retailer!!  Many patients who visit us after getting discount hearing aids from large warehouses, the internet,  or "Chain" stores are very dissatisfied with their hearing aids because of the fit or the poor sound quality. I highly advise against buying from a discount retailer or internet because although it may be cheaper up front, you will end up very unhappy with its performance and end up paying more to have the programming and adjustments done the right way, like we do at Professional Hearing Services, Inc. I fix hearing aid issues, for a fee, of course, from discount retailers. We can consult how to get you back on track to Better Hearing and understanding!!

Custom Blue Tooth Devices

Many streaming remotes and devices that provide wireless solutions are now available. We can make custom molds for most Bluetooth devices.  Hearing aid are now available that can stream directly from an iPhone with no intermediary device.  Made by Starkey.

Custom Earmolds

A custom earmold is required for BTE wearers and some RIC wearers.  A silicone impression is made to perfectly get a mold of your ear that fits comfortably.  The custom earmold is the small, clear acrylic or soft piece that carries the sound from the aid to the ear canal.  Cost ranges from $95 to $115 each for a RIC mold.

Custom iPod/MP3 Player Earbud Molds

If you enjoy listening to music while walking, running or biking this is the best way to keep your ear bud in your canal. Ear buds are custom made to your ear and come in a variety of colors. This is done via the Siemens MiniTek remote.

Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluations

A hearing test is necessary and must be completed prior to any discussions regarding the need for hearing aids. The audiometric evaluation consists of a series of low frequency and high frequency tones along with a list of words to determine your ability to understand speech. Testing pure tones is done to determine the degree of hearing loss and whether hearing loss is conductive or sensorineural. Based on these results, as well as, consultations from you regarding needs and your lifestyle, professional recommendations will be made for your specific situation. Learn More
